No. Walks are open to everyone, with or without the STEPN app. You do not need to install or buy anything to come along." url: https://www.stepn.tech/en/faq/ language: en site: stepn.tech (STEPN Switzerland) --- [stepn.tech](https://www.stepn.tech/en/) / faq # FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ## THE CLUB **Do I need STEPN to come along?** No. Walks are open to everyone, with or without the STEPN app. You do not need to install or buy anything to come along. **Do I need a diagnosis?** No. The club is designed primarily for neurodivergent people, but nobody has to prove or explain anything. **Can I come along without talking?** Yes. You can stay silent and greet people without a kiss on the cheek or a handshake. You can also wear ear defenders or earphones, take a break away from the group, leave early or walk without the app. You don't have to explain yourself. **How much do walks cost?** Walks are free. You only pay for your own travel to the meeting point. ## STEPN **Is this an official site?** No. stepn.tech is an independent community with no official connection to Find Satoshi Lab, the studio behind STEPN. **Which realm should I choose?** For beginners, Solana is the easiest: it's the biggest market and the best documented. Polygon is the riskiest; read the [Polygon page](https://www.stepn.tech/en/polygon/) before you choose. **How much do I need to invest?** The price of a sneaker, plus GST for upkeep and a small amount of the network's token for fees. Prices change every day, so check them on the in-app marketplace. The details are in the [rules](https://www.stepn.tech/en/rules/). **Is it an investment?** No. STEPN is a game; the value of tokens and sneakers can fall sharply, and you can lose some or all of the money you spend. Nothing on this site is financial advice. ## CONTESTS AND LEAGUE **How do I enter a contest?** Follow [@PolyGST](https://x.com/PolyGST) on X: every contest is announced there with its rules. To enter, reply to the announcement with your video. **How is the score calculated?** Each contest has its own rules. For Event 2, the base score is the number of kilometres on the odometer multiplied by the failure rate of the challenge with the most failures (10% per failed upgrade). Each additional challenge adds 200 points. Each set of 3 level 2 upgrades takes away 300 points. [See the results](https://www.stepn.tech/en/contest/event2/). **How do I report a mistake?** Reply to the contest's announcement post on X or write to @PolyGST. Every correction is published on the contest page. **When does the league start?** No date yet: the league is a community proposal to FSL. After FSL's feedback and a trial run, season 1 could take place from 1 April to 30 September. Each step will be announced on the [league page](https://www.stepn.tech/en/league/) and on the Meetup group. The club's walks will begin when the league starts. ## DATA **What data does the site keep?** Without your consent, the site sets no cookies and does not count your visits.
